About the American Rhododendron Society

The American Rhododendron Society is an international organization whose mission is to promote education, preservation, and distribution of plants belonging to the genus Rhododendron. This genus not only includes the typical large leaf rhododendrons (elepidotes) and smaller growing forms (lepidotes), but also all of the azaleas including evergreen forms and deciduous.

Yearly dues are $40.00 which includes membership in the National Organization and subscription to the colorful ARS Journal as well as a local chapter of your choice. Associate membership in additional chapters is available for $10.00 per year. This is the website for the Potomac Valley Chapter which primarily serves people in the Washington D.C. area and its nearby suburbs.
