Potomac Valley Chapter
of the
American Rhododendron Society
Mission

The mission of the Potomac Valley Chapter is to promote interest in and activities related to the genus Rhododendron. These activities are quite varied and include such things as scientific research, public education, testing and evaluation, distribution, propagation, and hybridizing.

The genus Rhododendron includes both hardy as well as tropical species and hybrids. Plants in the genus belong to one of several diverse groups including the typical large leaf forms (elepidotes), smaller leafed forms (lepidotes), evergreen azaleas, and deciduous azaleas.
