Post Convention Options
Monday, May 4, 2009
For those who are able to extend their stay an extra day, we have several unpublished tour options available.
In addition to open gardens in the area that that people will be able to visit, we wish to
announce two other exciting options. There is no fee for these events and we are not providing any transportation
arrangements. People will have to drive themselves or arrange carpools. Unfortunately, since both activities
are on the same day, it will not be possible to do both. However, we need to know interest well in advance
of the convention to make the appropriate arrangements.
Pentagon Tour
Dave Nanney will host a post convention tour inside the Pentagon at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 4. Dave has worked at the Pentagon for the past
41 years and he has offered to arrange special tour conducted by the Pentagon Honor Guard, followed by a tour of the outside Pentagon Memorial
dedicated last September 11. Check out the excellent Memorial web site for more details:
Pentagon Memorial
People must contact Dave directly to be considered for this tour. It is not something that can be done at the last minute since
he must submit names of attendees to security guards well in advance of the event. For more information:

U. S. National Arboretum Tour
Although the U. S. National Arboretum is open for visitors every day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, if there is enough
interest among convention attendees for a private tour led by Ms. Barbara Bullock, Curator of
Azalea Collection, on Monday, May 4, please let our registrars know. The Azaleas should be in peak bloom at that time.
Remember, people will not be able to do both the Pentagon Tour and the Arboretum tour.
